CITY TOUR with LOUISIANA STATE MUSEUM / CAPITOL PARK MUSEUM
Your journey into three centuries of The Red Stick begins in our air-conditioned mini motor coach, where you will enjoy a two- hour historical, and sometimes humorous, tour of the passion, adventure, deceit, and discovery that could have happened only in the Bayou State. You will explore a way of life like no other.

Once we arrive at the Capitol Park/Louisiana State museum, you can be your own explorer of the most vibrant state in America inside this 70,000 square foot, Smithsonian-quality museum.

From A 48-foot wooden shrimp trawler, to a mystery Civil War submarine, and from Louis Armstrongs bugle Pops, to the sights and sounds of a real Mardi Gras parade, the Capitol Park Louisiana State Museum provides a panoramic exploration of the most vibrant state in America.

You will be engulfed in the rich history here, and will revel in the exhibits which show the diverse aspects of Louisianas history, industry, and culture.

Like Music and interactive history? You can listen to the sounds of the swamp, the interactive music exhibits of Cajun, zydeco and swamp pop, Baton Rouge blues, world-famous New Orleans jazz, and hear the powerful recorded living histories throughout the museum.

Once you leave the beautiful museum, our journey continues through historic neighborhoods, such as Catfish Town, Beauregard Town, Spanish Town, and Roseland Terrace, while enjoying the beauty of the downtown area and the mighty Mississippi.

Youll see three of our historic cemeteries, referred to as Cities of the Dead, and learn about this unique above ground burial system.

And if that wasnt enough, we give you even more Lagniappe (Cajun French for a little something extra or special). Youll also see the homes of former politicians, stately mansions and historic sites from the Civil War, mansions, capitol buildings, plantations and much more!
