Environmental Call to Action Workshop: Protect Our Environment and the EPA hosted by Tenleytown Huddle

Tenleytown Huddle from the Women's March hosts a "Call to Action and Training", a Community-wide  prep for DCs April 22 Earth Day March for Science; April 29 Climate Change March; Urgent Future Actions to save Our Planet.  The co-presenter is The Environmental Integrity Project (EPI), a nonpartisan, nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for effective enforcement of environmental laws. https://www.environmentalintegrity.org/.    

GENERAL PROGRAM OUTLINE:
1.Organize direct grassroots efforts to lobby Capitol Hill and the White House and to participate in local marches, rallies, and town hall meetings
2.Partner with EIP to prioritize actions on upcoming Congressional bills, hearings, event, and White House executive orders
3.Engage in letter writing, emails, calls, visits to the Hill; track Congressional  agendas and calendars
4.First Environmental Call to Action:  Track actions on fossil fuels; coal and climate change; EPA dismantling; deregulations, and budget cuts for research and enforcement
5.Second Environmental Call To Action:  Track and promote action on priority issues such as the Clean Water Act
6.Inform   how to track/evaluate/respond to pending regulations/deregulation
7.Profile key players to track:  as examples:  Rep. Jason Chaffetz,  R-Utah, Chair of House Oversight and Government Reform Committee;  EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, House and Senate Committes related to energy and environment

Charlotte White, Coordinator,  is an environmental scientist who served 23 years at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, DC.  Her expertise includes Toxic Substances; Hazardous Waste and Wastewater Management Policy and Program Evaluation, and Research and Development.   She has also drafted regulations and reviewed new chemical manufacture.   Her efforts earned EPAs highest award, a Gold Medal for Exceptional service.  

Christine Hoch has served as Director of Development for the Environment Integrity Project (EIP) since March 2016. EIP unites former EPA enforcement attorneys, public interest lawyers, analysts, investigators, and community organizers to document failure to enforce environmental laws.  Its actions hold federal, state, and corporate agencies accountable for public health and environmental legal protections.
