For our 50th season Wildwood Summer Theatre is presenting the Tony-award winning Broadway musical, Into the Woods. Music by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.
The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King's Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. (mti.com)
Wildwood Summer Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit theater company incorporated in the state of Maryland. Established in 1965, WST has presented at least one musical production every summer since. Company membership is comprised of talented local teens, college students, and young professionals living and working in the area, who volunteer their time. All company members are 14-25 years old, from the designers, to the musicians, to the cast and crew.
