ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGES OF AGING IN PLACE: A PRACTITIONERS' GUIDE
COURSE DESCRIPTION The increase in lifespan of the general population in the U.S. has presented rehabilitation professionals with the challenge of modifying their treatment approaches to maintain safety and independence for aging adults in their homes and communities. It is important for rehabilitation professionals to understand how specific age-related changes result in unique challenges and to implement modified treatment approaches when providing interventions for older adult clients. The presenters in this one-day course have the expertise to inform and guide attendees regarding helping their clients with aging in place, home modifications, and driver rehabilitation. They will share tools and resources to promote safe living environments, mobility in the community, and participation in leisure activities.
