Justin Trawick & the Common Good / Brooke Annibale / Dear Creek
Justin Trawick is a Virginia native born in Leesburg, VA and now residing in Arlington, VA close to Washington DC. His music ranges in styles from folk/bluegrass all the way to funk/hip hop. Justin's lineup varies for each show and with instrumentation that includes: upright bass, electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, banjo, saxophone, trumpet, cello, piano, harmonica, drums, and hand percussion.
Justin has opened for Brett Dennen, Bob Schneider, Pat Green, Ingram Hill, Edwin McCain, Pat McGee, Cowboy Mouth, Sara Bareilles, Jimmies Chicken Shack, The Gourds, K.C. and The Sunshine Band, Robinella, and Jenny Owen Youngs, and Basia Bulat.
Brooke Annibale began songwriting at age 15 and soon was performing in the Pittsburgh vicinity. At the age of 17, Annibale released her first full-length album, Memories in Melody, and staged a UNICEF benefit concert as her senior project at Moon Area High School. After graduating in 2005, Annibale went to Belmont University, where she graduated in 2009 with a degree in Music Business. While attending Belmont, Annibale released two works. A four-song EP, The Nashville EP, was released in 2006. Her second full-length album, titled The In Between released in 2008.
In 2010, Annibale raised crowd funds with a Kickstarter campaign enabling her to work with producer Paul Moak at The Smoakstack in Nashville. Their sessions resulted in her third full-length album, Silence Worth Breaking, which was self-published and released by Annibale on March 15, 2011. The album garnered positive reviews from Annibale's Pittsburgh base, while Brian Palmer of Glide Magazine called it "phenomenal", writing, "Filled with gravitas, passion, joy, sorrow, humility and boldness, the ten tracks that make up Silence Worth Breaking are done in a stunning, hypnotic fashion, encompassing the genres of folk, rock, Americana and pop in masterful ways."
A second EP release, Words in Your Eyes, was released February 5, 2013, and featured at an official launch performance at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on March 9, 2013.
Annibale has developed a following from her many acoustic performances on the Pittsburgh and Nashville coffeehouse, club and festival circuits.
Amongst the orange and red fallen from trees lining the Shenandoah River, the duo of Dear Creek was born. In 2009, singer/guitarist, Kate Potrykus, and guitarist, Alex Salser, could be found writing songs between classes and playing local gigs on the weekends. Soon, Dear Creek grew into a 5-piece, inspired by the sounds of the Appalachian Valley in which they were cradled, and the jazz, blues, folk, and rock music, which moved them to become musicians in the first place. Two albums, several tours including a recent 16 State tour, and a few line-ups later, Alex and Kate have stripped down to the very foundation upon which they had started. Now catch Dear Creek live as a duo as they tour the country releasing their newest album, "So it Goes." Listeners will get tripped up in the roots of Dear Creek's energetic, acoustic grooves, and leave their show soothed by the sultry sounds of their soaring melodies.
Dear Creek has played many notable venues across the country including, The Black Cat (DC), Pianos (NY), Reggie's (Chicago) and The Elbo Room (Chicago). In 2012 they made an appearance at an unofficial showcase at SXS, and have also been a featured artist on NPR's "Out of the Box" radio program. The Mockingbird in Staunton, VA described Dear Creek as "one of the best rising stars in the (Shenandoah) Valley."
