Auditions for Dance Theatre of Harlem/CityDance Summer Intensive

Audition now to train with Dance Theatre of Harlem artists this summer in Washington D.C. at the "DTH Summer Intensive in Partnership with CityDance" running from June 22- July 2 at the CityDance School & Conservatory at Strathmore. For ages 8-19.

FINAL AUDITION: SUNDAY, JANUARY 18
Located at Duke Ellington's TEMPORARY LOCATION at Garnet-Patterson.

AUDITION SCHEDULE (Please arrive one hour before your first class to check in)

Ages 8 - 11 yrs
Check In: 9:00am
Ballet: 10:00-11:00am
Contemporary: 3:00-4:00pm

Ages 12 - 14 yrs
Check In: 10:00am
Ballet: 11:00-12:00pm
Pointe: 12:00-12:30pm
Men's class: 2:00-2:30pm
Contemporary: 4:00-5:00pm

Ages 15 yrs & up
Check In: 11:30am
Ballet: 12:30-1:30pm
Pointe: 1:30-2:00pm
Men's class: 2:00-2:30pm
Contemporary: 4:00-5:00pm

Regarding Registration/Check In: There will also be a form for you to fill out and sign in-person on the day of the audition. Please bring a simple head shot and dance shot in leotard and tights in a ballet position (e.g. first arabesque or tendu a la seconde). Professional photos are not required. We will not have the ability to print photos on-site.

ABOUT: The intensive is ideal for students interested in a challenging exploration of ballet and a variety techniques -- with daily classes in ballet, pointe, men's ballet, pas de deux, modern, african, contemporary and jazz. Additional activities include: master classes with guest artists, choreography workshops and participation in a culminating performance for family and friends in the CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore (July 2, 5pm).
